Building Department

The building department regulates the city’s code administration, permitting, and plan review.The department also protects the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Aberdeen by enforcing building, plumbing, mechanical codes.

We constantly strive to ensure that building codes for both commercial and residential structures are met; thus ensuring the safety of each and every resident. The Building Department strives to provide the best possible service to our citizens and visitors.

All jobs related to construction (new construction and/or renovations) within the city limits of Aberdeen must be permitted. The permits may be classified as Residential or Commercial.

Among the types of permits that require an inspection are:

  • Building Permits
  • Plumbing Permits
  • Mechanical Permits
  • Sign Permits
