Section 15.08.070 Boiler room construction requirements.

    Any steam boiler room or room containing a central heating plant in any building used as a hotel, apartment house, hospital, assembly hall, lodging house, school house, theater, and place of refuge shall be separated from the rest of the building by masonry, brick or concrete walls not less than six inches thick and ceilings of gypsum lath and plaster or metal lath and plaster and all boilers and furnaces shall be set as provided in the Uniform Building Code. All doors leading into the rooms shall be standard fireproof doors. The provisions of this section shall apply to all buildings regardless of when they were constructed. (Prior code § 2.02.050)
